Transmission Systems

Transmission systems are the conduit for data and video signals over short or long distances. Data/video can be sent via cable (hard wired type), telephone lines (PSTN or quicker over ISDN line), by radio-wave, microwave, infrared, fibre-optic, GSM (cellular telephones) or via digital computer networks or Internet (High End) dependant on the distance required. The number of camera signals and alarms are importnt for specification as is whether the unit can transmit and receive data as the same time (TX/RX). If the unit can control telemetry or upload information directly via internal modem are becoming increasingly important.
